People are undoubtedly working on this kind of thing. The most difficult 
barrier, I think, is actually poker knowledge for mid to high-limits.

The approach of screen-scraping the client program and mimicing mouse movements 
isn't stopped by this without significantly impairing the ability of human to 
play with the same GUI.

As for the limit vs no-limit question, I think that there are pros and cons to 
both sides, but it's not very clear which is better.
