rhetorical question: everybody buys in $100 the game starts, you
bust somebody, now how deep are you?
answer at LCs: busted, the dealer misawarded the pot
everywhere else: $100, the biggest stack is only as big as the
second biggest stack (actually probably $94 if you already
payed time).
But seriously I do realize you can build reasonable sized stacks
in this game. But I hate having to hit the parlay of the fish
getting lucky against somebody else followed by me busting them.
I'd prefer they just get it from their bank in the first place.
I decided to play 2 downs of this game tonight after having finished
some work. I only got through one of the downs. On the first hand
I played the dealer couldn't figure out my raise. One player had bet
$30, I jammed $78. He counted my stack (4 stacks of 20 with 2 short).
Then took the $30 off. And counted the remaining. Foreshadowing. Near
the end of his down a pot developed where one person opened $4, another
called, button made it $24, small blind called, big blind called, early
position person moved in $98 (almost certainly although it was never
counted), button came over the top somewhat more (again just barely and
never counted), small blind called all in about $30 more, big blind
folded. board was laid out. Early position mucked to button and sbs
AK. Dealer matched up part of his stack to small blinds stack and
split it giving back the small blind her $30 and handing the rest
(meaning all of the early position stack) to the other player. Small
blind protested somewhat confusedly. Players all get up looking
sheepish muttering about dealing. I attempt to say something, dealer
barks back. Another dealer (Kahn and ?) tries to help but somewhat
confused. I notice floor is inept person who doesn't know a string
bet from a hole in the ground. Next dealer is coming in (due to
ineptness of first dealer we'd only gotten though about 9 hands).
I leave.
Looks like they have some training to do.
They did have a 5-5 game going although it looked like they choose
to not start a feeder even though they had a long list. But I
didn't ask how live the list was.
