I think that a drop dead time for alternates is needed. say the end if the
first level.
I think they should get their full stacks for 2 reasons. One it makes the chip
counts closer to reality and Two it's not really their fault they didn't get to
start at the first hand. [It is different for 'late entries' which are entries
that are allowed after the start but who's stacks have already been placed on
the table]
The alterates are not guaranteed a seat in the first place and they come into a
table where someone has 'doubled up' or there are several larger than average
stacks because someone busted out. So they are at a disadvantage from the
beginning.
I'd rather seem them have to pay more to get in (ie $10,100) to get the $10,000
stack. Now the fact that they are allowed in benefits the players later as the
prize pool is larger.
