[ba-poker] Dependable Internet connection?

So I finish fourth in a multi at Party last night. Which, considering I had
like $686 out of the 441K in play with like 40 players left, wasn't bad.
However, I managed to be stack leader for a while seven handed, and soon after
that the DSL gremlins from SBC hit again. It went out 6-8 times during the last
2-3 hours of the tournament, often folding me for 2-3 hands at a time,
including two AKs within three hands when we were four-handed (hands included
below). I wanted to cry. Fourth was worth 3,100, which I'm fine with, but when
I think that third was 4K, second 6.6K and first 11K, I can't help but wonder
what might have been.

Needless to say, I'd like to find a high-speed connection that's a little more
dependable. A friend with cable says his has gone out at times during
tournaments, though I haven't talked to him about it lately. Does anyone else
have this problem with SBC DSL, should I get my equipment checked, is there any
other provider who's reliable? At this point I'd take someone who's seamlessly
on 99% of the time but is unavailable for like a two-hour stretch sometime
during the week than someone who's spotty several times an hour late at night.
Is there any kind of explanation for this? I'm a technical novice, so any
information would be enlightening. I'm on Nob Hill, close to an SBC station on
Pine Street, so I thought things would be better here.

And, needless to say, I won't comment at the table about the DSL gremlins
anymore.
