Appreciate your thoughtful analyses and options for my disconnection problems.
Called SBC this morning and they said to try just unplugging my modem for a
couple of minutes to reboot it (it's probably been on nonstop for months), and
I seem to be operating smoothly (so far) this evening. In addition, Party Poker
instituted a bunch of changes ("Life lines" and "System health") related to
disconnects that almost seem to be directly related to what happened to me last
night:
