suggested
a twist on lowball to increase the action: deal only 4 cards before the
draw, so that everyone has to draw at least one card.
Something to try at the next home game maybe.
You want an action game, here's what you do: deal everyone TWO
cards, and then deal the rest as community cards, like in Iron
Cross (but not necessarily in a cross shape). Maybe have a
betting round, then deal three community cards, another betting
round, another card, another betting round, another card, and
the final betting round and showdown.
With enough action, you can get rid of things like the sevens rule.
