You don't have to read anyone for anything if you're not in on crap like J5s. You say you're a "sucker for suited cards." What do you think all those big losers are throwing money away on? Certainly not hands with positive expectation. When you play a hand like J5s, you're basically trying to flop something that will entice you to take off another card. And then you'll either get money odds to take that card off and maybe get in trouble (as you did), or not get money odds and make another mistake. With J5s you hardly ever get a flop that you can feel ecstatic about. The only really good flops are a made flush or a set, and the flush is very vulnerable. The first mistake should never be made.
