Re: [ba-poker] You've got to know when to fold 'em

First, let me state that we are talking about a big NL ring game.

You've said this a few times. What do you mean by "big," anyway? I thought you said you played the $25 and $50 games on Party.

You might say that it's obvious that 76s is better than 76o.
Most everyone will agree.

How about KQo vs 76o?
I think most people would agree that KQo is the better hand.

Now let's say that a tight player makes a small raise from early position.
Six people call. Which hand would you rather play?

KQo. You make a few less straights (and the straights you miss out on are the straights like T98 on the board where you are much more likely to be beaten anyway). When you do make straights, they are always the nut straight, and there's often an ace on the board. You make top two pair instead of bottom two pair. When you do flop a king or queen, you often win, such as when the tight player has JJ (or QQ) and everyone else is calling along with their 76s and small pairs.

Now, maybe you /have/ to lose a bunch of money with KQo against six players when you flop a king or a queen. If that's the case, I would suggest that you work on fixing the gigantic leak in your game that compels you to lose lots of money when you flop mediocre hands and stop your campaign of advocacy against strong no-limit play.

WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN???
