They had a three raise limit. I still didn't like the rule. What if the player miscalculated and got knocked out solely because he couldn't call the last bet?

Depends on your definition of "close to the cloth". Is there
any limit on the number of raises? With the limit what is
the max number of bets you might have to call with your AA
when you flop AA? might make implicit collusion a much larger
factor in ring games.
