At Harvey's they have taken down the wall behind the poker room which
blocked the way to the Hard Rock from that area. Into that area they
have added 4 poker tables (making up for the two they removed
from the blackjack party pit), several pool tables, some video games, a
large semicircular couch, and a big screen TV. In front of the video
poker bar close to the poker room they are building the WSOP swag booth.
This is from the company that was killing rooms just a short time ago.
It'll be interesting to see how it works out for them. The flow through
the casino and by the poker room should be good. Back when they closed
off the route both the video poker bar and the poker room suffered a
little. But adding in all the non gambling space just seems so
anti-harrah's. I also wonder if it'll become the place for all the
busted gamblers in Stateline to hang out. I know I passed on the 5-10
seat due to being glued to the namco 20th machine last night. I wish I
had some pool skill. If altitude leaves them any money I'm certain it
would be a good place to hustle the "can't sleep now" party goers early
in the morning.
Harrah's hasn't gone mad enough to spring for a second floorman or chip
runners (one slave dealer). So the 18 table long strung out room should
be a joy to run and play in.
