It is my understanding that the changes were made in the "drop" due
to the pending lawsuit with the city of San Jose. Bay 101 has just
entered into a period intense "observation" leading up to their trial
date. This change to the drop has already gone into effect.
I'll try to provide complete details after I talk to my wife Eileen
(who is now a day-shift poker dealer at Bay 101). From what I picked
up from her, the drop is no longer collected on the button, but taken
from the blinds or antes (for the lower limits) or collected as a
time charge (for the higher limits). Like Southern California rooms,
the drop is dead money now, not live.
They do have a "no flop, no drop" policy in effect as well...
