It gets better. They're taking time on the half hour

pay close to $21/hr with the $3 button charge?

In the lower limit games they used to average around 30-35 hands/hour and the drop was around $12/player/orbit.

In the higher limit games the drop was closer to $15/player/orbit.

The new time charges on the higher limit games are not really a break over the old charges, but now you get in more hands/hour, so in that sense it's a better deal.

What about the "Mark Sherman" rule, though? Do they have a way to punish the chronic lobbyers? Although, these days it's less likely to be a problem.

There was something about "buying the button". If
you missed your blinds you could "post" your missed
blinds in-between the small blind and the button.
$20 live and $10 dead in the pot. The next hand you
get the button. I sort of saw it happen once but
never figured out how they worked the blinds on that
or the subsequent hand....

They've had this for a while now, many clubs have adopted it. If you miss the big blind, then on the next hand (where the player to your left would normally post the small blind) you post both blinds. Next hand, you get the button, and the players to your left post the small and big blinds (which they have not yet posted, since you bought the blinds on the hand they would have), and then play proceeds as normal. This is good rule, speeds up the game, keeps things moving and keeps the players happy. The player who was a few seconds slow running back from the bathroom or cigarette break isn't as likely to be pissed off that he missed his blind and would have had to sit out an orbit or wait a couple hands to post and miss the button in the process.

the tired clichés.

Hopefully TILT can just die quickly and quietly and we can all pretend it never happened.
