These machines reliability seems to be questionable. At Harvey's I regularly see the machines having some sort of problem. At various times I've seen:

1) extended shuffle times (minutes)
2) incorrectly identifying short decks (red light says short, hand count
says otherwise)
3) jams
4) power offs (independent of the power cord getting kicked out)

#2 was happening often enough for a while that some of the dealers would
just ignore the light

I've only seen a few red lights in the 40+ hours I have played on shuffle tables in the last few months. Overall my experience has been very positive with them, but maybe the Bay 101 and GC machines are not old enough yet to have worn out...one thing I have noticed is that these machines really increase the skill in the local tournaments. I think I am seeing about 40% more hands per round now than before because of this, and it is awesome. I also noticed in the ring games that when I moved to tables without the machines I really found the wait while the dealers were shuffling to be really annoying and a waste of time. I guess I've really gotten to like the new machines, it appeals to my sense of time efficiency, or maybe my ADD.
