Well, first of all, my understanding of the "one player to a hand" rule
is that it does refer to cheating/maintaining the standard of play, not
preventing delay.
However, I think you are correct regarding the online context. As long
as there is only one actual hand under discussion (no sharing of
multiple hand information), I don't think that there is any way to
enforce otherwise...and must admit that I have been involved in such
discussions myself on occasion (even with individuals who subscribe to
this list.) Technically, I suppose this is still collusion though.

Subject: [ba-poker] Ethical guidance needed
Here is my ethical question: Is it OK to have a friend look over my
shoulder while I play online, and to discuss the hands with my
friend while I am playing them?
It seems to me that the "one player to a hand" rule is a casino rule,
not aimed at cheating but at preventing delay.
Also, since the rule is unenforeceable in the online context, I
assume I am playing against players who feel free to collaborate
with friends.
Finally, playing with friends watching is a way to avoid the social
isolation of on-line poker.
What do you think?
