I've had no problem or objections in B&M casinos to having a friend sit
behind me and I'd flash him what I was dealt. I thought it would be a
good way for someone to understand the starting hands I played in Holdem,
and Omaha Hi/Lo. I'd say it'd be more detrimental to my cause because he
could give a tell about how good or bad my hand is, but it brings another
player past the intimidation of just going in and sitting at a poker
table. Some of us have seen the gf/wife sitting behind the player for
hours.
I'd be inclined to do the same online, if they wanted to understand the
hand better, I'd pull up the hand history and review the hand with them
afterwards, but not get them involved during the hand.

On another note, is it me or has there been more rude player vs. player
behavior? I've been in situations recently where a player threatened
to kill another player at the table, and one other egging a player to take
it outside.
