Not condoning something is not the same as saying you can't do it.

Sorry, I just quoted one sentence. Visit the link and it will be clear that UB's rule is a strict "one player per hand," although they acknowledge that it's almost completely unenforceable.

"In no situation is it ok to have more than one person per hand, per thier rules, and NSXT will be informed of this by the one of the supervisor's in the customer service department."

"The point in my mind as I tried to express to Todd is the very fact of being on the phone while someone else is in a hand does violate the one person per hand rule, in the eyes of UltimateBet. Many people have brought up the fact that this hard to police. Being hard to police is completely different than having an online site say that it is OK to be on the phone while another player is playing getting advice."

I'm just pointing out what UB's rule is. For the record, I don't like this rule. It's a carry-over from brick-and-mortar card rooms, where there are good reasons for it as people have already mentioned in this thread. Not only is the rule impossible to enforce on-line (while easy in person), it's also easy to violate, especially if you don't know it's against the rules.

Apparently, at least one on-line site has a policy against coaching:
