Rocks'n'Beer without the beer?

Not exactly. In Nevada the games are raked as a percentage which means if the structure discourages action and people actually play that way, there's little or no money being dropped, and the casino ends up losing money on the beer. By contrast, Bay 101 would like nothing better than for everyone to play rock tight, especially with the shuffling machines. In that sense taking the blind off the button was in effect a price increase. I have no idea if anyone actually plays tight in those games, though.
